Artist Statement:
In my work, I seek to portray inner worlds through emotion—emotions that belong to me, yet are also shared by every viewer. I understand emotion as a nonverbal form of expression that connects us and makes us equal. Love, sadness, and fear are universal experiences that accompany us in everyday life. In this sense, the artwork becomes a mirror: a space in which what we see inevitably reflects something of ourselves. When we begin to verbalize what we feel, cultural frameworks and learned interpretations come into play, often leading to judgment. However, if we recognize that emotions are part of a shared human condition, we begin to understand that when we judge what we see, we are in fact judging ourselves. In my images, the presence of the feminine appears recurrently, likely connected to the strong influence of women in my personal history and my deep admiration for them. At the same time, my work is also a way of exploring my own identity—of unveiling certain vulnerabilities that, due to conditioning, men often try to conceal. Ultimately, my intention is for the viewer to see themselves through the image and to connect with an emotion that unites us beyond everything that language tends to divide.
