Ornélie is a French figurative sculptor whose work exists at the intersection of volume and illustration. Trained at the Gobelins school in Paris and with professional experience as a drawing animator on animated feature films, she is largely self-taught in sculpture, bringing a cinematic sensibility to her practice. Her feminine figures inhabit a world that is surreal, romantic, pop, and baroque, drawing equally from animation, classical painting, literature, and comics. Playing with the visual language of the cabinet of curiosities, her sculptures evoke imagined eras shaped by Gothic and Victorian influences. Each piece is entirely hand-modeled in polymer clay and incorporates meticulously crafted details—eyes, insects, fabrics, laces, and embroidery—making every work unique. Ornélie has received numerous international awards, including recognition from Lunar Codex, Beautiful Bizarre, Infected By Art, and the Art Renewal Center, and her work has been widely published. She exhibits in both France and the United States and currently lives and works in Dinan, Brittany.
